PIKIRAN RAKYAT - Person in Charge (PIC) of the Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, speaks up regarding West Java being the province with the highest number of online gambling players in Indonesia.
The predicate is based on the findings of the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center PPATK). Of the five provinces mentioned, West Java is ranked the highest.
According to Bey on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, online gambling is a national problem, not only West Java’s, “It is not only West Java’s problem, but also a serious national issue."
Bey said that his party will exert any possible resources and authority to coordinate with the central government in eradicating online gambling practices in West Java.
“I will exert all resources and authority of the West Java Provincial Government with the central government in eradicating online gambling,” he said.
Province with the Most Online Gamblers in Indonesia
The Online Gambling Eradication Task Force found West Java as the province with the highest number of online gambling players in Indonesia.
"Based on data from PPATK, the first in the list is West Java," said the Chairman of the Online Gambling Task Force, Hadi Tjahjanto on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
Hadi said that there are 535.644 people in West Java who play online gambling. The number of transactions is no joke, reaching IDR 3,8 trillion.
The second place is occupied by DKI Jakarta with the number of gamblers 238,568 and the transaction value amounting to IDR 2.3 trillion.
